May 20, 2026 – There’s one word Reed Rushing used to describe an opportunity to get machining training: relieved.

Reed is a quality engineer with Milwaukee Tool. Although he’s been with Milwaukee for five years, a recent change in positions has had him looking far and wide to answer questions he’s had on machining.

“I found myself searching the internet and textbooks often to answer questions,” he said. “ACE training was the perfect opportunity to boost my knowledge in this area” and supplement training he received at Milwaukee.

Reed is one of many Milwaukee employees who have done ACE’s free CNC machining training at Mississippi State University.

[ACE training] has allowed me to reduce design costs by 30% and shorten lead times.”

But for him, it’s not just knowledge learned.

It’s applications made.

“Understanding the capabilities of machining processes was a great benefit,” he said. “Basing design decisions on this understanding has allowed me to reduce design costs by 30% and shorten lead times.”

Saving time and money are just two ways ACE training is helping Milwaukee.

Other employees say the training has been a benefit to them.

McNeill Dinkins – Quality Engineer

McNeill is a Mississippi State University alumnus and has worked at Milwaukee for about a year.

He says working in Fusion was the most beneficial part of his ACE experience and that his depth of machining knowledge has increased.

“I have a better understanding of what metals are good for different applications and the capabilities of different machines,” he said.

Justin Bright – Sr. Mgr. Quality/Reliability Engineering

Justin leads service and returns quality teams across several sites.

When he first heard about ACE training, he saw it as an avenue to upskill his team.

Justin says so far, it’s been a success.

“Along with team building, this gave our engineers the opportunity to start thinking outside the box on our current capabilities and where our team could improve,” he said.

Oakley Edington – Manufacturing Engineer

Oakley works to improve safety and process efficiency.

The ACE training has helped him understand how choices made by other team members impacts his work.

“Diving into an overview of CNC manufacturing gives me insight into design choices made by other teams that directly affects my team’s ability to service any tool,” he said.
